UBC Gateway Building, Native Plant Signage
We were commissioned to make 12 different native plant illustrations for Indigenous wayfinding at the newly constructed Gateway Building. These signs act as a form of outdoor education and ground visitors into the territory. The plants selected were highlight by xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and have hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ names first, followed by their common Engligh name and their scientific name. The illustrations aim to highlight different plant identifications from berries, to blooming fruits of flowers as well as highlight their different seeds and texture.
